3.28.11 - India Railway Celebrates Commission of Loram High Speed Production Grinder

India Railway held a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 21, 2011 to celebrate the commissioning of a Loram high production rail grinder. The rail grinder is the first of two machines purchased by India Rail; the second rail grinder is scheduled to complete commissioning in May 2011. The Union Minister for Railways, Mamata Banerjee, led the ribbon cutting ceremony and was one of the first to ride on the machine as grinding commenced. It is Loram’s privilege to provide the first high production rail grinders purchased for operation in India.

India Railways is the state-owned railway company of India. The company controls the world’s fourth largest rail network with more than 39,777 miles of track and 7,083 stations.
